I see software engineering as a practical way of solving real problems that exist in the world today. From creating training tools for people new to an office suite of apps, to more complex things such as calculating disaster risk factors for homes in natural disaster areas, software engineering exists as a major tool and driving force for solving today’s practical and societal problems. As a child I dreamed of being one of those engineers at the forefront of technology, and I have turned that dream into reality as I have progressed through my career. After working in front-end software engineering writing code to build out applications such as learning platforms (for Google and PwC) as well as market aggregators for marketing professionals (for QuinStreet), and health-care applications to track patient wellness (consulting work for Augmentedjs.com), I now continue on my journey by returning to school to pursue a Computer Science degree. I've decided to solidify and extend my knowledge so that I may come back a stronger developer to help solve practical real word problems through software engineering.
