About

I am a senior honors student pursuing a major in Electrical and Computer Engineering and minors in Computer Science and Chemistry at Oregon State University. Some of my interests include Deep Learning, Machine Learning and Human Robot Interaction but I am always open to exploring new things in this riveting industry. After graduating, I will start working as a AI/ML Software Engineer at Microsoft in Seattle. I research with Dr. Heather Knight in the CHARISMA (Collaborative Humans and Robots: Interaction, Sociability, Machine Learning and Art) Research Lab. I'm currently exploring the use of service robots in the wild to improve people's mental, physical and nutritional health. Additionally, I also assist with delving into the confluence of collisions with robots in the real world and collisions in virtual reality. My previous research project revolved around the future of robots and issues of privacy, while investigating how hierarchy and intimacy can affect privacy violations. I co-authored a data-driven paper which was accepted in the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human Robot Interaction. Currently, I am working on finishing up my honors thesis which revolves around proposing two new innovative experimental methods for HRI. Last summer, I interned at Intel as a Artificial Intelligence Intern, gaining experience with TensorFlow, Kubernetes, KubeFlow and other AI tools. I developed a tool to automate the process of finding optimal hyper parameters for specific deep learning models to increase throughput and decrease latency using the Nelder-Mead simplex algorithm for both training and inference. I also learnt a lot about software engineering practices and the agile workflow methodology. I interned at Symantec Corporation as a Site Reliability Engineering Intern. This opportunity played a pivotal role in my experience of the software industry. Along with the inter-personal skills that I honed, I was able to understand and practice agile methodologies. I developed my skills in cloud automation using Jenkins and Microsoft Azure, scripting using Bash and Python and container management using Docker. I have worked as a software engineering intern at Mark Engineering, creating JavaScript and WPF applications to model 3D shapes and help children understand their geometry. Additionally, I have experience in 3D modeling in Creo and robot assembly from when I participated in my school robotics club, SM Tech.
