I am a soon-to-be-senior in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at OSU. My aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving coupled with my drive to help people drove me to choose engineering as my field of study. I want to change the world for the better, if only a little. Before attending OSU, I worked in various industries to cultivate a strong work ethic and exceptional interpersonal skills. Through these experiences I found my passion and I have determined the direction I want my career to take. One day I hope to work on developing medical devices, specifically hearing aids and cochlear implants. My father suddenly went completely deaf at a young age and through the amazing technology of cochlear implants now has a version of hearing available to him. I stipulate that it is a version of hearing because my father and I always connected through music, movies, and conversation, but with the current state of hearing aid technology those activities are dead to him. I believe we can do better than that and I plan to apply every skill I have and that I will develop to advance this category of technology so that no one has to give up music, movies, and conversation with their loved ones again. In an effort to reach the goals I have set for myself I have developed a broad skillset through work and education. For the majority of my time at OSU I have worked as a teaching assistant for Electrical Fundamentals I and in that role I have become a confident public speaker and I am completely comfortable collaborating with engineers from other disciplines. Through my studies I have acquired a variety of skills related to Electrical and Computer Engineering such as coding in C++/MatLab/Python/Assembly, schematic and PCB design in KiCad, 3D modeling in Fusion360, simulation using ModelSim/Quartus Prime/LTSpice, analysis techniques for linear circuits and signal processing applications, and many other skills that will prove useful in my career. In particular this pandemic has allowed me to practice remote teamwork and project development.
