Sean's Bio: student at Oregon State University finishing school this June. My capstone project is best described as “Computer Vision based Optimization of Trench Shoring” and is sponsored and intellectually owned by ShoreRight Inc, a company I co-founded in January of 2019 that specializes in advanced trench shoring solutions. It was while working as a Project Engineer for Bassett Architectural at the Nike World Headquarters Merchandising Expansion this last summer while reviewing RFI’s and related design changes that I had the idea to use computer vision to read engineering documents and the idea for my capstone was conceived. I began development for this project August of 2019, I have since worked with: Michael Carr - Branch Manager of Murray Smith and Associates Portland OR office, Brandon Farmer - Project Manager with Tapani Construction, Casey Lipe - Superintendent with Tapani Construction, Tanner Whickwire - Project Manager with Pacific Excavation, and Dr Joseph Louis - Research Professor at Oregon State University to bring my project to life.
