The Synth Generator project for Senior Capstone aims to create a sophisticated synth generator suitable for professional music production. The generator is designed to be compatible with industry standard audio editing software such as FL Studio and Ableton. The generator is to be used as a traditional way of producing synths, and music producers may use it to provide an original style of making music. A variety of presets will be available with frequency and pitch controls. In addition, standard audio modulation features will be available. Finally, the graphic user interface will provide a simple yet intuitive interface for the user. The team will develop the GUI using a liquid crystal display in order to provide easy user access for the generator. A microcontroller will be used to generate the synths, process and output the edited audio, and control the graphical user interface. Synths will be generated using standard digital generation procedures with inputs to control pitch and frequencies. Audio filters will be available to edit the audio directly before directing to an audio editing software. The GUI will provide a list of presets along with the current effects applied to the audio. The end results will provide a user interface that can be accessed by a music producer or someone who just wants to produce, to create the synths based on different features implemented within the generator.
