Electronic Disc Golf Scorecard ECE443-Sp26

Spring 2026

The Electronic Disc Golf Scorecard project is an innovative new way to improve and simplify the scoring process in both casual and competitive disc golf. Traditionally, scores are recorded on paper scorecards, which can be inconvenient, easy to lose, and time-consuming when calculating totals, determining payouts, or managing tournament standings. While alternative methods such as smartphone applications already exist, they often require internet access, familiarity with technology, or constant interaction with a touchscreen, which may not be ideal during gameplay or for less technical users. This project proposes the development of a digital electronic scorecard that combines the simplicity and familiarity of a traditional paper scorecard with the convenience and efficiency of modern digital technology. The device is designed to allow players to quickly and easily record scores during a round while automatically storing and uploading data to a digital scorecard system. This would reduce errors, save time during tournaments, and provide players and organizers with immediate access to updated scores, statistics, and standings online.
