This system is a robotic arm capable of drawing with a writing utensil. It can be controlled with two joysticks, which tell it where to move in the xy plane, whether to lift the writing utensil or lower it, and whether the emergency stop function should be executed. The arm makes use of two motors and a servo, which control its movement in the xy plane and the movement of the writing utensil along the z axis respectively. A button above the writing utensil detects when adequate force is being applied downward, and an LED turns on when it is pressed. Some of the most difficult aspects of the project were 3D printing and coding, with the 3D modeling and the documentation for individual blocks being some of the easier parts.
