This is a timer meant to help you focus on your work by removing your phone as a distraction. You can set an amount of time on the timer, and the countdown only begins when your phone is placed on the sensor and removing it will restart the timer again when the phone is replaced. The timer also has a buzzer and an LED with an adjustable brightness to indicate when the timer ends. This project implemented few technologies/techniques to make. First was a custom designed PCB for the project that connected all the components and provided an interface for all our outward user components to sit on. We also used a force sensor as the trigger for the timer. Additionally, we used 3D printing to create the custom housing to hold all the components. The main challenges that we ran into were with the PCB and housing, as it is difficult to test both those things until they are physically completed and difficult to make adjustments after. However, we were able to manually make adjustments and get the project to work. For future improvement, we could work on making the timer look more polished and cohesive, as well as adding a few more helpful features, such as a sound that continually beeps if the phone is removed during the timer to give the user more of an incentive to put their phone back down.
