This portable oscilloscope project was made to read signals and display them on screens. The oscilloscope is portable and powered by a 9V battery. Key technologies that have been implemented include robust connectors that ensure a secure and reliable connection with probes, a configurable trigger, and an adjustable time/voltage axis. The oscilloscope responds to user inputs in under 100 milliseconds and is completely battery powered. There is also a switch in order to turn off and on the system and two screens which display two different signals simultaneously. Some notable accomplishments from this project were meeting almost every engineering requirement. The main challenge that we ran into during this project was not being able to sample at 1MHz. During the course of this project, there were also issues with shipping times, manufacturing times, and component failures. Some areas for future improvement would be to plan further ahead, achieve the 1MHz sampling rate, and add measurement capabilities into our project.
