Our project focuses on development of a control system for an existing electronically controlled variable transmission (eCVT) for the OSU Baja club. The OSU Baja club is a student run car where they design and manufacture an entire off-road vehicle over the course of one academic year. An electronically controlled variable transmission enables this vehicle to utilize a larger span of gear ratios than a traditional transmission. Our system utilizes digital and analog signal processing with an ESP-32 and an Odrive S1 to control the main motor. Our control system allows for easy reprogrammability, modularity, and integration with the vehicle sensors. The system will continue to be refined by the Baja group as their vehicle needs change over the course of a competitive season.
