[ECE443-Sp26] Jolteon: open source, all-in-one environmental sensing platform

PCB
Open Source
Hardware

The Jolteon project is an open-source, all-in-one environmental sensing motherboard. This platform will serve as a universal solution for the OPEnS Lab, simplifying the prototyping and deployment process of environmental monitoring tools across various projects. This unified design will provide a flexible and reliable foundation for future environmental research needs. It incorporates an I2C Multiplexer, 5 Volt Booster Circuit, Solar Charging Circuit, 4G LTE capability, and SDI-12 protocol interfacing. The main challenges we faced was figuring out the most efficient way of combining all of the individual blocks into one unified PCB without any missed connections. Future improvements to the Jolteon Board would be to optimize the solar charging circuit for a 3.3 V power supply and managing thermal issues on the power rails of the Hypnos power management block.
