The Digital Logic Game for Aspiring Engineers (DLAE) project addresses the need for accessible, hands-on tools that help 5th-grade students understand the fundamentals of digital logic and introductory computer engineering. The system uses physical logic gate pieces each containing small PCB enclosed in 3d printed cases that users can slot into the game board to create interactive logic circuits. The game has LEDs that display the output at each input and logic gate as well as the final system output. The overall purpose of the project is to develop a physical, classroom-safe system that teaches basic logic functions through interactive modules, enabling students to visualize how computers process information. This approach supports early STEM engagement by transforming abstract concepts into tangible learning experiences. One area of future work is to test the design with actual students to determine any further improvements that need to be made to the design to improve usability and effectiveness.
