The study timer and stopwatch is designed to help students focus and enjoy their study time. The system is intended to allow students to put their phone down for 5 to 10 minutes for studying or track their time spent studying. The system implements an alarm feature that alerts the user when the timer is ended or the phone is removed. The system detects when a phone is placed on the device and when it is removed, enforcing good study habits. The system also has three different LED modes for user customization. In the future, we hope to include a more customizable timer with a greater variety of timer options. We were excited to accomplish a PCB designed to produce clear alarm tones for a more pleasant user experience. One of the main challenges in implementing the system was the initial use of an outdated ESP32 microcontroller, which was unable to handle multiple peripheral communications.
